The case for Atheism is a pretty simple one, at least for those that believe strongly in logic and reason. An atheist looks at the case for god the same as a jury would look at evidence in a trial. If evidence cannot be produced for any god, then it can be said with reasonable certainty that no god is real.
Any and all religions assert that they know beings exist beyond space and time, but that interact with them on a daily basis by answering their prayers, touching their hearts and giving them hope. There have literally been hundreds of thousands of stories of supposed supernatural events that prove gods existence, such as the crying statue of the virgin mary, Jesus showing up in a window pane smudge, someone having a near death experience and other such events. While this may convince most if not all believers of that particular faith, none of these would convince a Muslim that Jesus is real, nor would it convince a non-believer. The reason being that all of these incidents can be explained with natural explanations, such as the events of the crying virgin mary actually being a hoax perpetrated by the church staff to try and get more people back into the church. DNA testing can be done on the blood and matched to one of the staff. If the blood does not match anyone, that could be cause for concern, however, in this real life case, it did turn out to be the blood from one of the priests. The "Jesus smudge" can be chalked up to statistics and random patterns looking like what the people want it to look like, such as the photo of the bonfire after the death of the Pope, that looked like one of his pictures waving before his death. Bill Maher actually made an excellent point on this one when he showed other similar photos that also looked the same as the bonfire, such as Tom Brady and John Travolta from Saturday Night Fever. Near death experiences have also been explained as nothing more than a chemical reaction of the brain. In all these events and similar ones, the story has always been the same in that they can all have natural explanations.
Now as far as the non-believer is concerned, if you cannot provide solid legitimate evidence for your particular god, then the default must be true, in that none of them are true. Everything in this world has a natural answer to it from the origin of the universe, to the origin of life. Are these answers perfect, absolutely no, but unlike religious answers to these questions, you actually have something that you can test
