Here some easy tips on how to save cash in high school.
Get a Job- You're never going to save anything if you don't work for it. Get a part time job during the summer or during the weekend. Don't stress yourself out though. Make sure you spend some of the money you make or else it will just feel like hard labor. You can reward yourself a little. Think save around 75% and spend 25%. Put the 75% in your savings account.
Save Spare Change- It adds up faster than you think. Make sure you roll your coins and bring them to the bank. Don't bring the change saved to a machine because it will only steal some of the money you saved.
Don't do Dumb Spending- . Don't buy what you know you don't need or that you won't use. Example: don't go and buy a new ipod when you already own one. You don't need the fancy stuff. Buy the fancy stuff after you are out of college and have a job.
Think Before You Spend- When buying things think about it first. Are you going to use it? Are you just buying it to impress someone? Is it really necessary?
Do Odd Jobs- Mow some lawns, baby sit, clean cars, clean someone's house, shovel snow, clean windows, dog walk, etc. A few bucks here and there really add up. Put it in your saving account.
Create a Savings Account- This where you'll put the money you're saving. It will encourage you to put more in and see your money rise. Plus you get interest; it's not much but it's something.
Create Savings Bonds- Putting money into a savings bond or a bank CD is a great idea for getting cash. Pretty much you put money in, you can't touch it for a certain amount of years and the cash builds up. Easy and a great idea.
Put a Talent to Good Use- Do you have a talent such as playing instruments, making jewelry, drawing, yo yo, etc. If you live in a highly populated or a big tourist attracted place then perform for some cash. A fun way to get better at your talent and earn cash too.
Garage Sale- Got a bunch of stuff you don't use? If so then have a yard sale. If you don't have a lot have a yard sale with friends. It's fun, gets rid of junk, and will earn some extra cash for savings.
