Can you ever trust anyone 100%?
You can trust someone 100%, if you know them well, and believe in their ability to do the right thing. Saying that I must also say, that you can also trust someone 100%, to do the wrong thing, if given the opportunity.
Asking yourself the question, "Can I trust myself?" Can you, really? Most importantly, can you trust in your judgement of people, and situations. If your answer is yes, then trusting others becomes easier, but the consequences of getting it wrong, harder to swallow.
Everything depends on the variables of the relationship you have with a person, the outside factors that influence, and the state of your mind in any given situation.
If, you are tired, hungry, and already stressed when you have to deal with an emotional decision or situation, then the likelihood of trusting it or the person involved in it will be annoyingly taxing and impossible to deal with rationally. Hence the term, "I'll sleep on it." was born.
On the other hand if you are rested and in a calm state of grace when the question of trust arises, then it will invariably be an easier decision and because of that, work out better.
A governing factor in trusting a person or thing is your confidence in it or them. As an example, if you play a sport like football your confidence grows with practice.
When you begin to trust in your ability to kick the ball and get it on target even 99% of the time, then that one percent where you fail is overlooked as so negligible it can be ignored.
However even a hundred to one shot at the races, can win a grand prize so trusting in your ability and relying on it solely, without attempting to ensure it's outcome, could be your downfall.
Trust if you must. Trust if you can. Your ability to tell when to trust in a person to do right and or to do wrong will increase, and then you will have experiences, some mistakes and some not, to help you on making your judgement to trust someone or not.
Many people I know don't look so deep into the emotional strings of a play and tend to take for granted that their friends are loyal and trustworthy without giving it too much thought.
I feel that being like that is probably the best way to go, whilst still wary of an unwritten rule not to betray those close to you.
Considering the alternative to trusting in someone or something and where it could eventually lead if you mistrust everyone and everything, is a nightmare and can only lead to a very lonely and reclusive existence.
So when betrayal comes your way and your trust is abused, bear in mind it's not always their fault. The fault could be your judgement of the situation.
The benefit of the doubt normally goes a long way in helping you sustain friendships, and if you are a suspicious person avoiding situations that place you in the predicament of placing your trust in someone else can be advisable. Play the game and play it well enough to not warrant relying on others. Once you achieve a balance everybody becomes 100% trustworthy, just remember you still have to check it/them.
