When money is accumulated and used for noble purposes in life such as realizing your mission on earth, we can say that it is being put to good use. However, if and when money becomes a purpose to itself, it can become a dangerous addiction that can lead us straight to hell. The meaning of money depends on the very meaning or value that a particular individual assigns to it as well as society in general.

Western society compared to other cultures puts money on a pedestal.  Money is treasured as a priority compared to other values in life.  Greed for money and its irresponsible use more precisely defined as abuse caused a severe financial crisis globally.  We are currently suffering the effects of global misuse and abuse of money.   In this time of economic recession, we are forced to save and preserve our money more than ever. 

There are numerous connotations when it comes to money and you can find some of them listed below:

Money can be a good tool if you use it for good purposes

Money is best utilized as a tool for achieving higher purpose and goals in life.  It best serves us when we use it in line with our principles and an inner set of values.  Thus, let the money serve you by accomplishing your mission in life.

How much money you possess is directly related to your self-esteem

If you have some money in your pocket, your self-esteem will be much higher then if you do not.  In fact, money is attracted to those who feel confident about it. 

Money is like a medicine:  use it in moderation otherwise it will not have an appropriate effect

One should not be throwing money away nor be too thrifty with it.  With money it is always good to try and find that medium way because whatever we overindulge in or underestimate has the possibility to hurt us later on in life.  For example, If you abuse the money you earn the hard way by overspending it for a long period of time, it will come back to hunt you.

Money can turn you into a success overnight if you grab the right opportunity

Make it an instrument of achieving your goals and thus making a difference in the world.  Right amount of money at the right time used by the right person can make an overnight success.

Saving and giving money works best in combination

Money can not circulate freely and multiply if one only saves it and does not give it out.  One has to know how to handle money, how to work with it and make it work for itself.
