Managers: How to motivate your employees at work

Motivation for any task may be hard to achieve. How do you motivate workers to do their job? Some employees don't think their paychecks are cause for them to perform their job. They expect more money for the job they are supposed to be doing and aren't. Should you go through the expense of firing the employee to rehire another just like him or her? Why not try motivating your employee first? A little motivation may be less expensive than firing and hiring someone else.

Have you noticed that in recent years the employees seem to be less enthusiastic about actually working and doing their jobs? All the employee wants is their paycheck and they don't seem to understand they are supposed to do a job to earn it not just show up.

You may be an employer of someone who took the job knowing what the pay is and the same week the employee started working for you he or she is asking for a raise. Has that employee shown what he or she can do? Is that employee even doing the job he or she was hired to do? Are you thinking of firing that employee?

Firing an employee is an easy solution. Unfortunately the mind set of people that become employees has become "get what I can for nothing". If you fire this employee what guarantee do you have that the next one will be any better.

Motivation may be a key to the success of your employee. You may have to try several techniques to motivate your employee before finding the solution. Watch your employee and see what motivates them. Money is usually the motivator but what if you can't afford more money? You already pay them for work they aren't doing. What else are you supposed to give them? Most employers feel a good swift kick in the rump of the employee is in order. What do the employees want though? What employees want is key to motivation.

Ways to motivate your employee:1. Even if your employee is the worst in the world and can't get anything right, you should praise them and praise them like you mean it. If you tell them you appreciate what they are doing they may improve. If you don't like how they are doing something say "You did a great job of... but would you mind doing it this way." Some employers think this makes them look weak to an employee but if the employee doesn't improve you can always fire him or her and what have you lost? Nothing that you weren't going to loose.

2. You could motivate your employee with money without actually giving him or her a raise. Set a goal for your employee. Let them know you really needed something
