So you have an antique car and want to know it's value. Well where to start, there are many sources for finding the value of your classic or antique vehicle. One of the easiest ways is to pick-up the old car price guide which can be found at your local book retailer. You can also find the estimated values at KellyBlueBook.com for classic cars.

The value of your antique car will depend on a few factors, including body shape, interior shape, mechanical condition, and several other factors. Price guides usually give you guidelines on what conditions are worth what, and the conditions are usually described in numbers, 1 being the best. There are quite a few price guides out there, but you can also have your antique car appraised by a professional appraisal service. Price lists usually contain most major and known small car manufacturers, usually dating from the 40's-early 2000's. Different price guides may give you different values, so you have to determine an average value.

Another price guide that may assist you is the NADA price guide for classics, which I believe dates from the 50's or 60's- the early 2000's. If you have a hard time finding a particular vehicle try and contact some car collector associations for information. Most antique price guides are harder to come by then the price guides for newer vehicles, but they can be found. Sometimes you just have to search a little harder for their prices especially on certain models that are rare or very few were made.

One of the best ways to find a price list would be to go online and do a general search for them, you never know what you might find. Certain vehicles may not ever list a price, so those vehicles will probably have to be appraised. Vehicles that don't contain price information are usually hard to get, expensive collector cars, like the Hemi Cuda with #'s matching original 426ci hemi engine with original 4-speed transmission.

Price guides are a useful tool if your a collector or are selling your classic car. Car clubs are again another good way to track down price guides, as they may have useful information on where to find them. Price guides can be found almost anywhere, you just have to know what you're looking for and where to look for it. So remember next time you need a classic car price guide, don;t forget to check your local bookstore and the internet, and you never be lost for your car's price again.
