on the surface sound romantic but when the lyrics are carefully listened to, it may not be a good wedding song.
A couple I knew chose a beautiful sounding song that was unusual, but sounded nice as they danced their first dance together. However if you listened to the lyrics carefully, while the song was indeed a love song, the problem was it was actually about a breakup, not a union. This is one good reason why you should always carefully analyze lyrics before making your final selection.
*Compromise
A problem some couples run into is agreeing on the ideal first dance song. Musical tastes may vary or one or both partners have a distinctive dream song in mind that they've always imagined would be played at their wedding.
Don't start off your married life insisting on a particular song if your partner isn't as keen on the same song, the song is showcasing your relationship and should represent the tastes of both of you; be willing to compromise until you find a song you both share a connection to.
Whatever song you choose, be sure it is one where you'll smile every time you hear it. The primary thing you want to avoid is picking a song you'll cringe at a decade from now and ask yourself "What were we thinking?"
Some couples immediately know what song is perfect for their first dance, but for others it takes a lot of work and effort to hone in on the ideal song. If you fall into the latter category, just take your time, examine all kinds of options and the right song will come to you.
