Organic search is becoming a popular term for several reasons. It may sound like some new wave marketing technique, but it is really just a term related to making your pages more likely to be found in searches. It is free and easy to do.
The Meaning of Organic
Firstly, the term "organic search" is becoming popular just because the word "organic" is in it and everyone is jumping on the organic food bandwagon. A better term for this concept would probably be "natural" or "non-advertised" search. Organic search involves making your site easy for search engines to find so that you will appear naturally in search results without having to advertise.
Advertising Avoidance
Methods of organic search work well because Internet users are highly avoidant when it comes to advertising. They do not want to see it and will simply gloss over anything that looks like an ad. They have good reason to be suspicious of advertised sites, since spammers have gone crazy advertising scams and gimmicks that have burned Internet users.
People Find What They Want
Rather than shouting about your page in advertising, just make sure that the keywords people are searching for are in your index.php metadata and in your content. The result is that Internet users find what they are actually looking for. Sucking readers in by misleading statements might get you more traffic, but they will just "x" out of your site faster than you can say "spam".
Building Trust
By giving searchers what they are looking for, you automatically build trust. Trust is a necessary part of selling any affiliate program or service. It is also important if you want people to come back to your site a second time. Statistics say that most internet buyers stay with the first internet provider they use for a given service. By giving them want they came looking for right away, you lock in more future business.
What Could be Better?
What could be better than a way to promote your site that costs you nothing and lets you compete against the big sites? Just be careful to check out competition for the keywords you choose and use regularly in your content. Google's Adwords has an excellent Keyword Research tool that will let you check the popularity and competition for particular keywords and phrases. Do not overuse keywords because too much of the same keyword actually hurts your ranking, making your content look like spam.
