Why I write I write
Number one because I love it. Not just what comes out of my writing, the fact that I can take my swirling thoughts and ideas out of the abstractness of my brain and concrete them on paper, I like the action of writing, the muscle movement of my fingers, wrist and hand. I like to see my not neat, but legible and whimsical letters on paper. I like everything about writing. Most people will doodle pictures, I doodle words. That's the other thing I like, language, expression, words. There is so much to play with, to invent, when you write. Words become my symphony, my work of art, my journey, the place I go to, to capture myself and my life and at the same time to leave myself and my life. That's the third thing about writing you can go to your own little world where the limitations are up to you. I write to escape, or to live a dream that I may not be able to reach in real life. Or even better to plan my dream, and set my goals, and trace my plan so that I can have a chance to reach it. When I am at this point my words do not have to mean anything or come together to make any sense the letters are not arranged in any shape or form. There is no lexicon no diction, at this point writing is a physical affair. I just like the very action of it, it is artistic to me. I like to play with my letters and inks and paper and like to think that I can turn my ever so slightly sloppy writing into an illuminated work of art from the Byzantine era. Sadly, because I have more desire than talent I move on to the next step and make my writing more than just a physical affair.
In my next phase I attempt to put my mind on paper in a way that is illustrious and colorful and fun. I try to capture a little of my spirit to see how much of myself can I find in my writing and see myself reflected back within the lines of my work. It is a sort of mirror in this way and helps me to make sense of me. (I guess this is the
