What are the golden years?

Years of Enjoyment

Even though I am not there yet, my feeling is that the "golden years" are referring to that time in a person's life when he or she can look back over the years to see what they have accomplished while on this earth. From the vantage point of retirement, a person can now take it easy and follow their dreams, or their wishes, or their own path to the best combination of relaxing activities that are available to them. Work is past for the most part, although some may like to take on a part time job just for the extra income it can provide.

Traveling is one way to relax and spend these "golden years" that a person has earned through nearly a lifetime of work, either in their own business or working for someone else. The travel can be local, or it can be to other states, or it can even be to different countries throughout the world. Plenty of travel locations, sights, and itineraries abound for those wishing to see more of their own state, or their country, or the world in general.

Cruise ships are one way for these people to see more of this world we all live in. Cruise lines are popular and plentiful and the trips and tours that are offered can be as expensive or as inexpensive as the person prefers. Others will like the independence of owning and traveling in an RV (Recreational Vehicle) as they visit state after state and then returning to their own home only when they are ready to do so. For these people, there are numerous RV locations willing to sell almost any size of Recreational Vehicle that a person might ever want or need. Lest I forget, there are also those who will likely never even make it out of their state since the attractions within its borders are sufficient for their relaxation in their "golden years".

For other people who have at last made it to their "golden years", going out for a few rounds of golf at the nearby golf course, working at home in their yards or gardens, spending an evening seeing their favorite orchestra perform, or heading out to dinner and a play at one of the local theaters will provide more of an enjoyable time for them. These people will be just as happy as those who have the RV or take the cruise or visit some foreign country.

Whenever you decide that you have made it to your "golden years", be sure to relish all the rest of those remaining years as much as possible. And, however you decide to enjoy those years, be sure that you do not let the opportunities for additional experiences made available by these years pass you by.
