At 2:30 AM: 3 Haiku
1
Eat the dark quiet -
Savor minutes like caviar,
A broken-rule taste.
2
Thoughts scrabble on the
tin roof, flash me fake smiles...
and the clock ticks, ticks.
3
I have another four
hours to end Yesterday, then
must begin Today.

How do you find poetry at 2:30 AM?
in the arms of a lover
in the laugh of a friend
in the breath of a moment
sipping a cup
Awake at 2.30am
With a poem in my head
Do I go back and dream?
Forget the poem
Confine it forever to oblivion?
Or do I turn
At 2:30 A.M.
It's almost time;
My pains are close.
I'm ready now-
And here he comes!
(Twenty-something years
Lying in bed
The glow-in-the-dark stars
Hanging from the ceiling
Toss and turn
Without success
No sleep
Turn to the right
