"Save the World to Save Yourself"
They all tell you to save yourself first,
But you're the selfless one,
Like the fireman who goes back in the burning building,
To save the elderly tenant's only companion,
You're the one who wants to save the world,
And you have no one to back you up.
So you go on,
You scream into the night from nightmares,
You cry from depression,
Sometimes you even contemplate suicide,
But you still want to save the world,
Even if no one will back you up.
Everyone says to leave the world to someone else,
And worry about yourself,
But you can't,
Because you know that if the world gets saved,
Then somewhere, deep down,
You do, too.
