Christians are people who have put their faith in Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord. Once you are born again, you must learn who you are in Christ. This will take time. It is important that Christians read and study the Bible everyday. The Bible tells you who you are in Christ and it is your guideline for living. Christians are to be examples of Jesus Christ. Examples not only by what you say, but how you live. If Christians aren't being doers of the Word, they can't share it with anyone else. Christians must practice what they preach so they can lead someone else to Christ.
Jesus was a perfect example. He didn't call Himself a Christians. He just obeyed His Father. He didn't just preach, preach and preach. His life was an example of trusting His Father and obeying His Father. His teachings and His life lined up together. There was no doubt about who He was.
Jesus didn't just teach love. He lived a life of love. He healed the sick. He delivered the oppressed and possessed. He raised the dead. He fed the hungry. He set the captives free. He obeyed His Father. He lived a life of prayer. He spent time alone with His Father. All that He said believers should do, He did it. He never put Himself above being a doer of the Word. He knew the disciples needed to see what He was teaching them. Jesus also knew they had been under the law for so long, that someone coming along and just preaching a new way without any action, wouldn't get their attention. His actions are what caused them to believe.
Christians are thankful people. Thankful to a holy God for sending His Son, to die for the sins of the world. When others see Christians living out their faith, they will be quicker to listen to what they have to say. Christians lead others to Christ, not themselves. Christians are the Body of Christ. God uses Christians to do the things that Jesus did. It is not God's will that anyone be lost. Christians must share the message of God's love and His gift of salvation through Jesus.
Matthew 5:14-16 says, "Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. Christians are the light that will lead others to Jesus. The light shines bright, when Christians live what they believe to be true, according to the Word of God.
So, Christians, practice what you preach, teach, sing and speak. Someone is watching and listening. They don't only want to hear what you have to say, they want to see what God is doing in your life. This Christian journey isn't just about you. You are leading others somewhere. Where will that destination be?
