How to get prints from your digital camera

There are several ways to print the pictures from your digital cameras. The exact way of course, depends on the type of camera you have and the type of printer you have, and also what devices (computer, Internet service, etc.) you have. There are cameras that come with a printer and they can be docked directly to your printer without the need for a computer.

Deciding on which type of printer to purchase can be very difficult. The most important question to ask yourself would first be to decide what your general means to get your prints will be. You don't even have to have a printer at home or a computer as far as that goes.

You can take your camera (and/or memory card) to Walmart or any retail outlet that provides such service. (If your not sure, just call them in advance and ask them if they make digital prints from the camera or cards or do they have to be on disc.) If they have to be on disc and you don't have a computer but wish to stick with this way of printing your pictures, continue your quest until you find a store that accommodates your needs.

Kodak offers a service (very much like Snapfish) where you can upload your pictures via your computer (remember these services not only require a computer, but they also require an Internet connection). Once you have uploaded your pictures, not only can you edit your pictures, you can order prints and even other creative items, such as photo mugs or even pillow cases.

If you have a printer at home you can even make your own "Iron-On Transfers", after purchasing the proper medium (or "paper"), which can be found at most craft stores. In order to achieve the best quality printed picture at home, make sure you use the paper and ink recommended by the manufacturer of your printer. Experience with Hewlett Packard has also pointed me to using the software provided with my HP Printer.

In review, you can print yourself, or have someone else do it for you. Remember, if you are ever in a bind and have a technical question, the manufacturer of your camera would be a good place to start your search for answers.
