And he misses her,
I see it in his eyes.
His every move
Reminds him
of some words
some moments
Some softness
of her...
He longs for the things
In his life to go back
To the way that they once were
So that he can return to his sanity
So that he can finally breathe.
But all that he needs,
All that he wanted
Has been washed away
By the pain
The deception
And the lies.
Now it is me that he holds
While he cries.
In the bleak of the night,
And my heart
How it sears
As in his dreams
He calls out her name.
His voice so wistful
As he pleas
For her return,
But she is no more
And instead he is left
With what is just a shadow
A person that I call me.
As I lie by his side
Listening to his lonely, sad cries.
As he fights his demons
I try to keep my own nightmares at bay.
For my soul is too tender
My heart is too raw.
To go through the things
That are just behind that door.
I'm afraid of being left
Crushed and broken on the floor.
Where people talk of me,
As the girl that is no more.
I allow myself
To timidly dream,
Of a day,
When it is only me
That he sees.
But my heart it will not lie,
And I'm too afraid
To let myself cry.
Because there is a point
From which there will be no return.
I cannot fathom
A day,
When he will call out my name,
And the only emotion
That plays out across his lovely face
Is one of happiness,
Joy and love.
My life I would give,
If I could see him live,
And not just merely try to get by.
And my heart it cries out
As I yearn to be held.
Comforting words,
Are something I so desperately need.
So take me in your arms,
And shelter my fragile heart,
And promise me that I too can survive.
And one day will truly learn to live.

Where is Love in this world today?
It is not in the eyes of the enemy
who hates us because we do not worship as he does.

He smacks her face and heads for the door,
Angry, red welts spread
