I must write,
For the words that flow from fingers so vigorously,
Are the portal into my soul,
And when spoken,
Tend to fall heavily upon deaf ears.
I must write,
For spoken words that pass through the lips with vengeance,
Rarely find the ears for which intended.
And written words,
Can be seen and felt in a world that doesn't listen.
I must write,
For words get lost when orally spoken,
Abandoned and forgotten as if gone unspoken.
Written words linger,
Upon eyes over time,
Permanently finding a home in the mind.

Poetry: I must write
by April Self
They say "I must write!"
Or should it be "Write I must!"
Pull out that old pencil, and blow off the dust.
Spirals on my notebook
I Bleed Ink
My pen connects
With paper white
As blood runs out,
As black as night.
You see, my blood-
My life runs here.

I write to explore.

Each page is clearly written and carefully penned
Like a roundabout without stopping
