The Internet has given birth to many new and exciting possibilities over the years, and recently one of those new possibilities has turned into a new fad for the entertainment industry. That new fad is called blogging and is basically a tool used by would-be journalists and anyone looking to be heard.
Blogging comes from the term "Web Log," and is basically a journal of sorts that people all over the Internet can view. Typically these blogs allow for people to comment on them to share their thoughts in response to the opinions and personal knowledge of the writer. Other then that there isn't much to blogging, and the best thing is that anyone can do it.
Why Blog
For most people the reason to blog is to share their thoughts or opinions on different subjects. These bloggers tend to write a new entry onto the page regularly to keep visitors happy. After gaining a good number of viewers surely blogging becomes addictive to the person writing on it.
In addition to the writer behind having people listening to his or her opinion, another great thing about blogging is that they can make money for the writer if done right. Through programs like Google Adsense and other pay per click services from advertisers, bloggers can actually make money depending on the amount of visitors to the blog.
Who Blogs
Almost anyone can set up a blog and start sharing opinions or even do reviews of their favorite television show. All that person has to do is go to a website such as Word Press and start creating a page. The people that usually blog are those who want to promote something, or those who want to become a journalist.
Over the past few years blogging has become the next big thing for the Internet. Journalism itself may change because of blogging, creating a new breed of news reporting, film reviews, and even Hollywood gossip. Who knows what the future holds for blogging, or the writers who tend to them.
If anything, there will be new journalists popping up with little experience. This may have an effect on where people to for their editorial articles, but that's probably about it. However there are those that believe blogging is destorying freelance journalism because of these writers with little experience popping up all over the Internet sharing their opinions on everything from films to video games.
There is no limit to how much a person can earn while writing a blog, or what they can or can't promote. Instead of considering blogs as a personal website, even though they are similar, think of it as an online journal. For most people blogging is very rewarding, ultimately it is up to the writer to make his or her blog successful.
