Weekends are generally short, but a great time to go out for a short vacation. The first thing about weekend vacations is that it is generally not planned, but the uncertainty of it all can be really fun. Spending time with the family can be quite fun and exiting this way, as opposed to sitting eating crisps in front of the television set, the whole day.

The family on a budget, and of course this would be really helpful with the recession approaching with be to saving the money. Camping is a great way to enjoy and spend quality time with friends and family. It is good to go camping and survive amongst the trees and woods, and return home after the long weekend knowing that you had roughed it about. Young people can get into groups and go out camping , take hikes, finding a lovely lake and go out fishing. Another option that is not too expensive, but does save money, of course it can cost a lot more than camping is staying in little log cabins with sanitary facilities. This is good for people who do not want to rough it out in the cold weather, and also use a spade or a bucket for a toilet, although there are quite a few camping sites that do have sanitary facilities. People need to also get medical supplies, first aid kits, and see to it that there are no wild animals in the facility, or if they do run into any trouble than there is help that is easily available.

A great idea for a short vacation again is going on a day trip or tour . Lots of places of interest can be seen, and people will generally enjoy this even though it may just be a bit pricey. day trips can be booked on line, and generally there it is a coach tour. The trips to around the United Kingdom usually are done via a coach tour, and the people will meet at a certain point in London. These tours go to bath, Stonehenge, Bristol, Oxford and even tours can be got to go to The Highlands in Scotland. Lunch is provided on some of these tours, but very often most people have to provide their own lunch. The tours are quite good because there is a tour guide on board who does explain the history of the place that is going to be visited.

Going for a weekend to Las Vegas or for a ship cruise is also a great way relax during a short break. Some ship cruises only last for a weekend and have a lot of entertainment on board which includes dance and cabaret acts, casinos, shows, sporting equipment and lots of food of course.
