Self-employment is for the ambitious. Its for people with a clear-cut agenda on exactly what direction they'd like to head in. When you're working for the industry you have a boss, and that boss sets the guidelines for how the staff do their work. Therefore you have zero control on how you'd like to conduct things. But when you're your own boss setting goals and decisions at your own leisure becomes au naturale.

The norm is to start some type of family or home business which generates revenue for ya on a monthly basis. There are also cyber gigs such as get rich quick schemes which many are starting to fall prey to. Constructing some type of blog is another way to build up the fortress of cash for yourself over time. A 9-5 job can be tiresome especially if you're all tied up in your cubicle trying to meet a stinking deadline. And you get strangled by your boss regardless only because the economy is leaving all of the big shot corporate executives hanging in the air. To tell you the truth this is what probably drives many younger employees to quit and thrive on their own business. Especially at a time like this when layoffs continue to be abundant. In order to personally secure themselves people come up with the logical idea of employing themselves for a change so they can survive in probably one of the most catatonic states in American history after the Great Depression.

Now I'll admit barely having the title student I don't know much about the workforce or how the working class would truly feel at such a turbulent time but what I do know is that a lot of workers salivate over the American dream, and that includes making money on your own terms. Of course it isn't a priceless job.

For starters, one would have to have self-motivation. And yes there is less rigidity unlike 9-5's meaning you'd have to become a pro in time management. The money, rewards, and benefits that you receive is what is gratifying. However, you'd have to keep tabs on your incomes while managing all of your personal finances such as the cost of material/capital for instance. And this causes the stress levels to augment like anything especially since you will be primarily in charge of keeping your business afloat along with a couple of your business partners. And sometimes you will be required to work day and night just to pull it off! Yikes!

But what's important behind all of these all nighters and money/time management is that the self-employed feel loads of gratuity and satisfaction in doing what they do. They get to implement the goals and set standards for their own business and nothings more sexier than when you have shotgun over what you do for a living. The trend of self-employment continues to mount as more employees secretly desire personal freedom from all of the sometimes yucky, pointless commitments they have to make to their bosses and their companies.
