From the window frosty rimmed,
Down I look upon the white,
Dark the sky, still darker windows,
But my mind's eye lives in light,
Tonight I lust, drink of desires,
Voices new both shun and praise,
A Sauvignon induces small talk,
St. Emilion - a welcomed haze.
He and I are thrown together,
Midst this world so real, yet not
And my heart still sober wonders,
If tomorrow will allot-
When worldly eyes suppose to see us,
Can he, will he take my hand?
When daytime ears strain to hear us,
Heart or duty, who'll command?
Morning shines on soft white sidewalks
I alone walk from the lieu
Where hope and heart with wine did wander,
Once upon our night of two.

Six weeks since I came home
