You are not a true candy fan unless you love marshmallow peeps. It is such a shame that these adorable peeps are not available year-round, because they certainly would sell quickly always.
Even though these bunnies are just marshmallow shapes that were dipped into sugar crystals, and given chiocolate drips as eyes there is still something appetizing about them; something that also seems more magical. They are one of the things I think about whenever I hear someone talk about the Easter season.
We all how our own ways of consuming a marshmallow peep, but I will share my personal favorite (which is also echoed by many people I know, including (ironically) the moderator of my diet group meetings). First, you bite off those two adorable chocolate dots that are their eyes.
Then, you bite off the bunny ears. Then, the bunny's head, and finally, you leave the rest to be consumed in order to get that wonderful sugar high. Alot of people like to allow the bunny to melt in their mouth. I have never understood this, because the longer it takes to melt, the longer it takes for me to eat more marshmallow peeps. (I sincerely hope my diet group moderator is not reading this).
One of the great things about eating marshmallow peeps is that you could eat a few of them and not get that quesy feeling you may get when eating alot of sugar. These bunnies are great for a quick afternoon snack. As much as I love them, however, I only eat the pink or yellow ones.
Now, I believe they come in other colors such as purple, and blue. I am not even sure if there is a different taste with other colors, but I never like to eat them. Also, there are not chicks as well as bunnies which are sold. I do not eat them either.
It is possible I feel bad enough about eating a poor defenseless candy bunny (being the animal lover I am). The bunny cannot feel it, but this is an animal lover talking. We believe that animals have feelings, even if they cannot say it (or feel it).
The best time to eat these adorable bunnies is in the afternoon. They just taste better at this time. It is also important to eat them after a meal, not before. This ensures that the wonderful taste is still in your mouth after you have consumed this treat.
Also, do not wait too long to buy these peeps. As I said earlier, they are only sold once a year, so demand is very high. If you are giving them to anyone as a present, do not go on Easter weekend ever. you will only wind up seeing some very disappointed faces on Easter day.
Have some peeps if you want to get in touch with your inner child. This is enough to allow you to escape from all the negativity in the world.
