Article re-writing can bring in additional income each month and help out during slow periods. The downside to article re-writing is of course the fact that you won't get paid very highly. You are probably looking at a rate of $1 per 100 words, so roughly $5 per 500 word article. The benefits of article re-writing though are great. The article is already written so there is no research time required meaning you can get a lot more done in a short time frame. If you are good you can easily do between 10 and 20 of these an hour and in monetary terms that's $50 to $100 per hour.

Who Needs Article Re-writes?

If you've been online for any amount of time you will have heard of PLR (private label rights) articles. These are batches of articles that website owners can purchase but they do need to be re-written before being used. These website owners are probably not the richest of people and are therefore your best bet when it comes to advertising your re-writing service. There are a number of ways that you can do this. You can offer set rates per article re-write, batch rates for say 10 re-writes, and you can also offer a rate for re-writing the same article a number of times. Remember rates for this work should be fairly low if you want to get any takers.

How To Re-Write Articles Effectively

Re-writing articles is not something that you should take lightly and you need to know what you're doing and who you are doing it for. If a client contacts you and gives you a website url and asks you to re-write the articles on that website, you need to make sure that the client in question owns these articles or has permission from the website owner to do so. If you don't check this you could be infringing on someone's copyright and that is not appropriate for a professional freelance writer.

Once you have established that the job is legitimate, the next thing to do is to start your re-write work. Do not be tempted to use any of the free article spinning software that is available as this just doesn't work. Try it for yourself and see the results you get. It's pure dribble. All this software does is replace words in the sentences of the article with synonyms. The completed articles are usually terrible and don't make any sense.

You need to re-write the article yourself and the best way to do this is to read the entire article first so that you know what it is about and the writing style that is used. Then start one paragraph at a time and re-write it in your own words whilst maintaining the tone, style, and information contained. It might take a while to get used to this but once you know what you're doing it will get easier.

Another place to find excellent jobs is webmaster forums. You do have to be careful though not to spam the forum or you will be banned. Try getting involved in the forum and joining in discussions. You can also offer advice on content etc, and this will get you recognised.

Having an article re-writing service is an excellent idea but make sure that you don't ruin your writing reputation by infringing on copyright or using software to do the work.
