The first, and most important, step towards equality for women is acknowledging that there exists a sexual hierarchy, in which men rule and women follow.
Portrayed as objects of sexual sub-dominance, women have been looked down upon by men since the dawn of modern civilization. Those who once provided us with the necessities of life have been given almost mechanical roles of reproduction and sexual appeasement in our evolved society. But just how "evolved" have we really become? Sure our technological capabilities have exponentially increased, and sure we have succeeded in setting up a "democratic" system, in the loosest form of the word, but our moral development is far from "modern."
Stemming from the formation of organized religion, a man's "seed" has been placed on a pedestal, with an almost divine light cast down upon it. Numerous laws have been set up prohibiting the "expulsion" of this seed in any circumstance not pertaining to procreation; though, if we examine the nature of a male's reproductive system, it becomes clear that the applied facade of male superiority is nothing short of comical.
Each day a male produces, on average, nearly 85 million sperm cells. Regardless of their necessity at a certain point of time, from the age of puberty, a healthy male never ceases to produce sperm. Where is the divine nature and importance in something which is infinitely abundant?
While men are able to produce an infinite amount of reproductive cells, woman are born with a preset and limited amount of oocytes (egg cells) which are to last their entire lifespan. Once a woman hits puberty, she has nearly 300,000 oocytes left, and looses about 1,000 during each menstruation. How can this be seen as a process subdominant to mens'?
While men are able to fertilize as many eggs as they wish throughout most of their lives, women do not share the same ability; they are limited in respect to when they are able to conceive a child. From what I can see, women seem to be the biologically superior to men in reference to that simple fact.
Once this point is realized, women, who have not yet taken a step towards equality, may now be able to open their eyes a bit more to the morally corrupt world, and stand up for their rights.
At every supermarket, as well as every gas station, magazines, with women posing in sexually provocative manners, line the walls. They depict women, firstly, as beings who must constantly maintain a certain composure. The "perfect" woman must be slim, slender,
