In this day and age why go to church

Go to church because your answer to comfort, security and eternity will not rest in chocolate, whiskey or the latest Academy Award winning movie. We go to church to worship God.

Be hungry for truth. Truth is desperately missing from the culture in which we live. Instead we live with relativism; the idea that truth is based on experience, nothing outside myself matters if what I feel tells me otherwise. That could work unless you had a bad pizza last night then chances are, feelings could lead one to the Pepto Bismol. Hardly something on which to base life decisions.

Why? Is one of those words that makes answering the question up to the creative thought processes. I know I can conjure up an answer for why; whether it makes sense to anyone else will never be the issue.

But what church? The one on the corner with the the giant cross, or down the street with the 15-foot high banner touting the $3.95 spaghetti dinner and revival? Decisions, decisions. What about trying one that teaches the Bible? Too "Bibley" for you? Okay, left to your own devices, where will you find truth?

What the Bible has to reveal to man is understandable, forthright truth. God loves you and is preparing an eternity for those who trust in and believe in Him. But, go ahead; you who resist the real truth, go seek out some religious experience. That's what you will go home with, experience; not a relationship with God.

Current events have been prophesied in the Bible, past events have happened and future events may come to pass sooner than anyone can anticipate. In one twenty-four hour period, during the time of the crucifixion, over 100 Biblical prophesies were fulfilled.*

The Bible tells us to look at world events; the signs of the times,* for an indication that Christ is coming back soon, to call all who believe in Him to Himself. Lest you be a skeptic, he will be back a second time, not to collect His followers per se, but to come as Judge.

Jesus Christ is the only living God. All other religions worship someone who is dead or a totem of sorts. Physical evidence, ie; sight, sound, touch all have been documented that Christ Himself rose from the grave with well over 500 witnesses seeing Him. Later He ascended into heaven in the form He displayed to His followers, in a glorified state, able to be seen and recognized, and suddenly appearing in places he did not enter via the door.

Hope is God's only begotten son who perished so each one would have everlasting life.

One thing God is not He is not a high pressure salesman. No need to hustle you into anything. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. The way to hear the Word of God, is to go to a Bible teaching church. Why go to church? Because our eternal life depends on it.

You have to hear it to believe it. It's your only hope for a future and a purpose.
