Kodak's EasyShare C763 Zoom Digital Camera is smooth and sleek looking and can easily fit in a small purse or shirt pocket. Lens size is35 mm with built in lens protection. It has a 2.5-inch indoor-outdoor color LCD. Shutter speed is 4-1/1400 seconds. Zoom is 3x. Available internal storage = 32 MB. Captures still photos in JPEG/EXIF v2.21 with a range of picture sizes from 1.2 MP to 7.1 MP. Shoots in natural color, black and white, and sepia. Video capture is also in JPEG with video length dependent upon memory available during shoot time. Settings such as language, certain sounds, date, time and formats may be customized to user preference. Has picture review including slide show and video playback.

EasyShare software operates the camera's programming and pictures may be printed to Kodak's EasyShare Photo Printer 500 or IMAGELINK. The camera is also PictBridge-enabled. Mounts on a 1/4 inch standard tripod; and comes with a one year warranty.

Included in the box with the camera are a wrist strap, an AC adapter, a Li-Ion battery, a battery charger, and a USB cable.

Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher and Windows XP or higher are required to operate the system using Windows. McIntosh users will need SAFARI 1.1 or higher and MACINTOSH OS X 10.3 or higher.

As far as the hardware goes users will need color monitors with 800 x 600 display resolution with a minimum of 16 bits. Processor speed must be 600 MHz or better, RAM must be 128 MB and available hard drive disk space must be at least 200 MB. Computer must have a CD-ROM drive and a USB port appropriated for the camera.

The Kodak C763 charges on the Kodak EasyShare Camera Dock. The dock is not included with the camera and retails for $34.99. For an easy $15 more, you can get the Camera Dock Kit that comes with the dock, an AC Adapter, a Ni-MH Rechargeable Battery, plus lens cloth, cleaning solution and a camera bag. The dock is also used to transfer pictures and videos from the camera to the computer and vice versa.

Kodak's C763 may be hard to find but it can be purchased certified refurbished for $94.95, which is about one fourth the retail price. Certified refurbished cameras offer the same warranty as new cameras and Kodak provides a 30 day money back guarantee if you are not satisfied. Cameras Kodak offers in refurbished conditions under this program were either returned to Kodak for whatever reason or used by Kodak for demonstration or testing reasons.
