Poetry: Life's casualties

by Gerald Drueppel

Created on: April 18, 2009

Very Complimentary

a gin and tonic in a hyperbolic glass

passed from being to being

as if freeing the all seeing eye

another limp gone by, another bride unburned
another rock never unturned

another corner, another mourner

they blot out the sun and drown out the sky

the promised, the sworn, the faceless, the forlorn

stand in such a way speak in such a way

as to be as un-compelling

as the tears forever welling

in pity's blue eyes

so do try to despise

more, much more

and digress

less
