When you'll hear the word Andalucia you'll probably going to say It's in Spain. But if they'll ask you where exactly? And if you'll hear Costa del Sol? Yes, Andalucia is there.
Nerja is one of the most famous beaches in the world, located between Malaga and Granada, it offers some incredible landscapes and ingenious architecture. If you visit Andalucia, you must visit the Carabeo Hotel with a view to the Nerja beach. It gives you unique and unforgetable sensations.
The question is from where to start and what to visit first? I'll give you a name the hill town Jimena de la Frontera. It is located 30 miles north of the port Algeciras and near Gibraltar. Also, it is near the Malaga airport, about 1 hour's drive, so if you want to get there by plane, pick Malaga then go straight to Jimena. This is what I recommend from me personal experience, but people may advice you to visit Estepona. Don't go there, it's more expensive than Jimena, and it doesn't have those incredible views.
After landing in Malaga, you pick a car from the basement car park (say goodbye to buses) and drive it away. You rent it (actually you just pay the rent, because the local employees will do it for you)for two weeks with www.carjet.com.
Those who speak only english will encounter some problems, even though there are allegedly large british ex-patried population. If you really want to go to Andalucia, learn some spanish, you'll make your trip much easier.
Jimena is a wonderful city, inside of it you can find a old fortress, built firstly by the Romans, made bigger by the Moors and after the Moors have been pushed back to Africa, by the Spanish themselves. You can climb there just to see those rare Griffon Vultures or Short-Toed Eagles and far more other birds, because there is a large variety of them.
You'll get hungry, I know. Don't worry, even though Jimena has two or three good local restaurants, you'll find there plenty of food at cheap prices. If it was after me, I would eat the entire year at them, with such prices and food quality.
In Andalucia, when it's summer, you'll barely resist to such high temperatures. This was, somehow, an occasion for the local authorities to build some impressive wells in an old architectural style. Also, there are enough swimming pools and green gardens, if you are bored already of the sea. You could also rent a villa, if your pocket is that fat at www.villarentalsjimena.com.
You must visit Rio Hozgarganta and Los Alcornales nature parks, it is a perfect place to
