They often say, you get what you pay for. That is true to a certain extent. When you are shopping for hair care products, pay attention to the ingredients in the products. If a product price is too amazing, the performance is probably not amazing. Such products cost about a dollar a gallon, and consist of primarily water. Be mindful. If the first ingredient listed is water, that is usually the primary ingredient.
You may find bargain salon brands in a convenience store. Beware of such items. If a product is labeled as a salon retail product, it is not supposed to be sold in a convenience store. Guarantees on salon retail products are usually void if they are not purchased in a salon. You may believe you are getting a bargain. If you purchase a product and it is old, you have no bargain. Salon retail products in convenience stores and local beauty supply stores are a gamble.
Many generic brands are similar to major brands. If you compare ingredients, and the majority of the ingredients are similar, try it. I have often experienced better results with a generic brand that with the original product. Sally's carries a generic line. Sally's is a reputable beauty supply establishment. It is very rare that you find old products or poor performance products at Sally's. If you are going to buy discounted hair care products, buy from reputable establishments. I trust Sally's, Armstrong-McCall, Smartstyle, JC Penney, and Wal-Mart.
Never buy discount hair care products at flea markets or garage sales. That is similar to Russian roulette. Not quite as deadly, but as much of a gamble. When you purchase from a flea market, those vendors can disappear like magicians. By the time you realize that the product you purchased is a dud, they are long gone. Garage sales are usually as is situations. If you pay two dollars for a twenty dollar product, you might need to wonder. I take that back. You need to wonder.
If you know what products work best for your hair, stick to those. You can study the ingredients and purchase products with similar ingredients. You should change products every three months. Hair tends to need variety.
Tresemme' has products that many professionals use. I have used some of these products. They have good performance. If I am not mistaken, professional stylists are involved in the production of these products. Isoplus is also a reputable brand. Try them, and if they work for you hooray!
