Some bakery cake known as the tall cakes, have multiple layers with multiple fillings inside of them. These tall cakes are a favorite type of cake for anybody that attends any kind of celebratory functions such as retirement party, baby showers, and even receptions. These are easy to create in your own kitchen, and even transport if you simply take the time.
Within this tall cakes guide I'm going to give you a few examples of the different type fiilings that you can put in between the layers to make your cake totally one-of-a-kind. By using variety of fillings that go well together you can create a wonderful celebration of the mouth.
Before we discuss filling we should look at the different ways of making your cakes. Depending on the amount of people this will be serving, you will need bake several layers. If you are baking this cake for several people, it is best to use a sheet pan from a professional baking store. However if this cake is only going to be a two or three layers and will be serving less than 20 people you can easily do this with a regular size cake pan of the 9 x 11 size.
Once you have determined the size that is needed you can began baking your layers. It is important that all layers be the same size or your tall cake well not be stable and it may topple. Therefore, when your cake is done make sure that it is level across the top, and sometimes this means removing a thin layer of the cake.
There are a variety of fillings that you can use, and you need to try to think of things that will go well together as you plan this creation. Three layers that are wonderful together are cherry and blueberry pie filling and vanilla pudding. If you use white cake this plan could easily go for a Fourth of July celebration or potluck.
Assembling your tall cake is easy if your cake is level, simply the bottom layer onto your serving tray. Around the top outer edge plays a border of the icing, which will hold in your filling, and go ahead and spread your blueberry pie filling within.
Place another layer of cake, and repeat the icing process but this time spread the vanilla pudding. Go ahead and then repeat this process with a cherry pie filling, and add a layer of cake on top of this. Use more butter cream frosting to cover the layers and now you have a wonderful for a layer cake for all your guests to enjoy.
This tall cake will be heavy, so please exercise caution during transport. Please check back frequently as I often add new articles that include things to help your parties go smoother.
