I came in nice and early
I came in on the train
I came in with my soul intact
To sell it once again
I got no return ticket
And no date of parole
I'm working for the Devil
And I'll be here till I'm old
CHORUS
He's quoting Bible stories
Of how we will be saved
He's the Devil in a business suit
O'Connor is his name
I'm dancing for a dollar
With a smile upon my face
And I don't know when I'll see my home again.
I think my journey's over
I'm stuck here with the damned
I think my journey's over
I'm doing what I can
I'll plead my case to Jesus
I know he'll be my guide
I'm dancing, hoping, wishing, pleading
Praying all the time...
CHORUS
