A dialogue on abortion

Inspired by C.S. Lewis' Screwtape Letters.

Yes it's your body you should do what you like with it, do whatever you want. Don't let anyone stop you from what you decide. Don't let anyone else tell you otherwise. It is your own body, you know what is best for you.

This is your escape, no-one outside the clinic needs to know. No one in your family will know. You can do this on your own. You are independent. This won't take long. If you do it you can keep on living your own life. Nothing has to change.

In fact, this is like a short-cut.

You won't have to put your career ambitions on hold to spend eighteen years taking care of a child. This is the solution. This can make a lot of the problems you have now go away. You don't have to change your life.

You will still have Tommy if you do this. He doesn't have to know. You can do this without anyone outside knowing. Nothing has to change.

Silly girl, think she can do this on her own.

If she does this then she will be one of the 1.5 million women in our God Blessed Country. This is too easy. It's too easy these days, I tell them what they want to hear and they rush like fools for momentary peace or pleasure. They always think it's the easy way out. Shame they don't know better. There's never an easier way out.

It's such a shame for this unborn soul who I'm sure the Almighty had great plans for. She would have blessed her mother's life with more happiness than she will ever know. She was going to be a loving friend to many, now poor Jane Emmens will never meet her bosom friend. She was going to be a loving girlfriend to Brian McKinnon. She was going to be a loving wife to Jack Hughes and mother of Emma, Jesse and Jordon. She could have achieved greatness and extraordinary goals. She was going to be the first woman president of United States of America.

Like I care.

God Bless America.

Author's note: This is not meant to offend anyone. I read The
Screwtape Letters years ago where C.S. Lewis wrote an extensive dialogue from devil's
advocate point of view. In this serious issue I attempted to write from what would be seen as against God. I know this is a sensitive topic but I wanted to convey the message strongly that abortion should not be a choice because God promises to give life, not destroy. Thank you for reading my article.
