Good limericks are comic and terse
And unlike more serious verse
They're not really good
Unless bad - and they could
Be much better by being much werse.

Most limericks aim for the mark -
Something bawdy, just for a lark.
But I thought
I once knew a girl in Mahon,
Whose trousers she could NOT get on.
Though her struggle was great -
Twas superfluous weight,
But
THE LIMERICK
It's a verse that is bawdy in jest
Written foully and part anapest
You may keep the meter
But say the word peter
And
