It seems almost depressing that as a father I could have no say so in the abortion choice of my child. I am a very firm believer that abortion is wrong; however, I am not in the position to judge others on their decisions. I do however, believe that a father should have a say so in the matter. It is quite relevant to any body reading this that a father is 100% responsible to pay child support when the child is born, and it is the fathers responsibility to care for his children. It seems quite unfair that a father has no say so in whether their child should be aborted or not. If a father must take on the responsibilities after birth with zero option then they definitely need a say so in the abortion of their unborn child. I completely understand their are fathers out there that play no part in the life of their children so I have to add their should be limitations to this right.
I think that in the instance a mother is unable to take care of a child, nor is ready for a child then the father should have the option to raise the child on their own. I know that I would definitely want the option to keep a child that I played a part in making. I would take the responsibility and not expect any thing from the mother. Their is definitely a fine line in determining a fathers rights when it comes to abortion; however, a father willing to take responsibility and raise their child should definitely have the option to do so. On the flip side a father who is only out to play games and not willing to take on the responsibilities of the child should definitely not have a say so in the abortion decision.
I believe their are some real morons out there that use abortion as a form of birth control and their are also some real losers who refuse to accept the responsibility of parenting. Not all rights are formulated with everyone's best interest. The rights of the father in our society are definitely limited even when it comes to custody and support, the bottom line is simple it takes two to make a baby, but it only takes one to make a difference in the child's life. A father can raise a child with no mother just like a mother can abort a baby without a father. In a perfect world their would be no abortions and every child would have two loving caring parents, but let's face reality and the fact we do not live in a perfect world. It is a two edged sword and it shouldn't be. If the father wants the child he should have the right.
