Wow, I really really enjoyed reading what Jane Alois wrote on this topic and apparently ranked# 1 as well. She really took the words and thoughts out of my mind. It was so informative and so inspiring Jane, thank you very much.
I want to add a few of my own thoughts as well on this topic. Now I can relate to this topic from experience as I do have my own kids as well and I totally agree that teaching ethics starts from home. That is the family the child is fortunate enough to be born into and I think it is every parent's responsibility to teach his/her child ethical values from the time he/she is born. As I have read so many times that whatever a child learns in the first 7 years of his life, that child will remember forever. I am sure if we teach our children things after the age of 7, it is not that they will not remember however we may need to bring them into the habit of it by repeating ourselves constantly.
Personally I do feel that our children are a reflection of us and will learn what they see from the way we act and react in everyday life. So if we react a certain way or behave a certain way, they will find that that is the correct way and it may or may not always be, so be careful with what you say around your children at all times as they are the ones constantly observing their parents and loved ones.
