Do ghosts really exist? You betcha! But in order to experience them I believe you either have to be really young, or just really open to the possibilities. Children seem to be more prone to this phenomena in general. My friend's little granddaughter at about age 2, kept talking to some unseen person like she was having a conversation. When questioned, she said she was talking to "the man" like everyone else could see him. Obviously she was the only one who could see him, however, strange things would happen around the house like car keys flying across the room and pictures kept falling off of the walls. There was talk that the original owner of the house (built in the early 1900's) had died in the house.
In my own experience, my grandfather died when I was about 13. The night of the funeral we had to stay at their house because it was a 2 hour drive back home. 3 of us girls spent the night in the same bedroom, and my sister says that she woke up in the middle of the night and saw grandpa standing by the bed. It scared her so bad she couldn't sleep for the rest of the night. Later, when I was about 17, grandma passed on as well. We were left the old farm house, and presently moved in. There were many things that happened while we were there. Sometimes you would just be standing there and all of a sudden the space next to you would get very cold. Other times you would actually feel like someone was touching you. The overall day-to-day feeling was that there were more people in the house than just us. We also found a ring on the stairs that my grandmother was suppose to have been buried with. Where did that ring come from? Other than the few things we had kept, everything else had been auctioned off. There was none of her jewelry left in the house. Based on some of the experiences, my sister and I believe that it was both of my grandparents that had decided to stick around for some reason, we'll never know why, but it was pretty obvious they were trying to communicate. After we moved out of the house though, is when activity started to increase. The windows upstairs were seen to open and close themselves while being watched by outside observers. Radios and electrical appliances would turn on and off by themselves, and people were seen in mirrors around the house. My little sister's teddy bear that she had left, would move from room to room all by itself. My sister and I knew that the ghosts were harmless, but there were several renters who though otherwise, and there were many in and out who would never stay long.
Are there ghosts? You will never convince me otherwise. I know they are around us, and some are even able to try to contact you-just ask the ghost whisperer.
