It is far better to cry and let your feeling out when hurt than to suppress your feelings deep within yourself. Holding back and suppressing your feelings can be detrimental for your mental health long-term. Accumulation of negative feelings harbored over a long period of time can extract a toll on our emotional and physical well being. Crying when hurt helps you grieve and eventually overcome your pain. Thus, crying gives you natural and lasting relief from your pain and distress.
Crying is a natural way of relieving your pain
Crying is a natural way of relieving your hurt. It is far more effective than consumption of expensive medications that will give you only a temporary relief. When your loved one dies, it helps to cry as much as you can in order to release the pain, hurt, and anger associated with your loss. It does not pose a threat as you can not become addicted to it unlike with medications. While sedatives can help us relieve our pain temporarily, they are not effective in helping us deal with our hurt long-term unless we want to become addicted to sedatives.
It is only healthy for you to let your feelings out when you need to
As life is full of surprises, we never know what may lie ahead of us. Sometimes we just have a need to let our feelings out. Don't worry about the stereotypes related to crying. It is your feelings and your life in question and you have every right to express your feelings as long as you are not hurting anybody else in the process.
Don't show your tears off at work
Don't let your tears show off at work as it is considered inappropriate and may be used against you. Regardless of the situation that you are experiencing at work, whether it be mistreatment or mobbing, it is better if you manage to remain reserved and professional until you are in private space.
Don't cry in front of the person who hurt you in the first place
I know that this is easier said than done. If you are a victim of domestic violence, don' t cry in front of your abuser. You will only get him on his high while you will be and remain humiliated by the act. Making somebody cry is probably the abuser's food for his soul. So, do not allow him to feed on your pain.
Don't cry in front of a guy who broke your heart
If a guy broke your heart and you feel like crying, make sure that you do not start crying in front of him. He is just not worth it. Let your feelings out in a private space and calm down a bit. Don't cry too much. Instead get busy finding another guy that will be worthy and deserving of you. Make sure your next selection of a guy is a wise one and that you pick a guy who will never make you cry. The guy who will make you cry is not worth you in the first place.
