People cheat because often times their affairs are simply forgiven. If you let a man get by with cheating only once, you can be assured that he will do it again sooner or later. It is just a matter of time. Don't feel guilty if your partner cheated upon you. Cheating is always a reflection of someone's character rather than need.

Below listed are the reasons why people cheat on their partner.

1. Falling in love with another person

Things just happen in life sometimes. If somebody finds a new love of his life, the least one can do is approach his or her current partner and be upfront and honest about the issue at hand. Nobody will want to live with somebody who no longer has feelings for him or her. There is a solution that can be found for every problem in life. But, the worst thing to do is to run from the truth and be unwilling to face it and deal with its consequences.

2. Partner's lack of character

Some people live almost like animals and purely based on habits as they are lacking real meaning or purpose in life. They might have not yet taken the necessary time to discover who they really are and what they really want out of life. Often times, they enter the relationship with the goal of satisfying their sexual urges while neglecting the emotional aspect of the relationship. Thus, they are likely to jump from one partner to another. They may be prone to lying, deceit and cheating. They do not care about other people's feelings and believe that the world evolves around them.

3. Partners do not share the same set of values

Cheaters usually lack courage to admit that they are miserable in a relationship and that they would like to move on. Thus, they are hesitant to convey the truth. They would rather cheat on their partner then be upfront and honest about their feelings. Rarely will a person cheat to get back at somebody if he is not brought up that way. You can not possibly change your system of values that has been built over time if your husband or wife cheated on you. You would be better of turning your back on him and going on with your life. You can not possibly change anybody's character but only hurt yourself more in the process.
