Top 10 World's Most Remote Beaches

Is the television remote becoming a best friend? Then maybe an escape to a remote beach vacation is a better alternative. This top ten list points out the best of the remote possibilities.

10.Los Frailes Beach, Ecuador

Los Frailes Beach is a star! This most beautiful beach of Ecuador is featured in countless posters. Los Frailes Beach offers amazing natural contrast - white sand surrounded by forested cliffs. Despite its fame, however, Los Frailes Beach manages to remain in pristine perfection. Its remote location has helped this perfect setting maintain its allure as a private escape.

Los Frailes is just a 30-minute bus ride north of Puerto Lopez. Los Frailes Beach, however, is a 2-2.5 mile hike from the bus stop. A 3.5 km. trail winds past two small beaches before the famous Los Frailes Beach comes into view. The intense heat of the region means that water and supplies must be stocked up at the beginning of the trail. The reward will be a sparkling clean beach with maybe just the company of giant crabs!

9.Plage Blanche, Morocco

This beach beauty is true to its name. "Plage Blanche" is a very white beach - 25 miles of white sand. Rolling dunes provide its backdrop. Plage Blanche is the spot where the Sahara meets the sea.

Four wheel drives and drivers can be hired at Guemlin to take vacationers to Plage Blanche. Even an expert driver, however, can get stuck in its soft sand. The white beauty of Plage Blanche is well worth any inconvenience or effort!

The Moroccan government is planning intense development of its tourist attractions in the coming months and years. In order to explore its beauty before more commercialization, Plage Blanche is a current favorite with travellers.

8.Barking Sands Beach, Kauai

Every beach lover hears the call of the sea but how many hear the sand...barking...at them? Well, that is a possibility at Barking Sands Beach, Hawaii! No, it won't be a joke! There won't be a toy dog hidden in the sand. The sand of Barking Sands Beach can make a barking sound!

It's all simply down to science! Sand has the ability to produce audible acoustic energy under certain conditions. Wind velocity and sand characteristics (such as round, dry, smooth) are factors in the intensity and type of sound released by the sand.

Located in northwestern Kauai, the Barking Sands Beach itself is owned by the military. Barking Sands Beach, however, extends to Polihale Beach and includes more than 17 miles of sand. Even with the unpaved roads
