I am sure that not many would truly appreciate the moniker "lazy", and would perhaps be rather known as something more illustrious like blaze or laissez-faire. So, this is going to address all of you women who are not lazy, but laid-back. Less apathetic, more easy-going.
If you find that you're not quite motivated when it comes to dieting, is to first look at what it is that you have such an attitude toward. Is it the notion of being restricted or stifled? Do you get bored easily and find diets mundane? Or is it that you just have no idea where to start, and find all of the available information overwhelming? Perhaps you're not lazy at all, but simply need a analysis of what the issues are between you and healthy eating.
The first step is to realize that being on a diet or dieting is not right for everyone. What I am referring to is not the changes themselves, but the name. For example, some people really like the structure of saying, "I'm on a diet", while others enjoy the freedom of "I'm making better nutrition choices." They both mean the same thing, essentially, but they can have a very different effect. Think about what would work for you as far as phrasing your goal of making healthful dietary changes, and through trial-and-error, something is bound to resonate.
The next thing to keep in mind is that you don't actually need to be on a diet. Heretofore, the word diet will not be used to describe a particular plan or practice, but will simply be the term for the food you eat, whatever it is. What we all need to be doing is making better choices, and making changes to the ways that we eat that are complimentary to the life that we want to live. The kinds of food that we put into our bodies are determined by our activities, our health goals, our moods, and our genetics, to name a few. The idea that there is one diet that will work for everyone is bound to set the believer up for failure. Your diet should be approached with this in mind: whatever you eat will be going to feed your entire body. Your skin, your organs, your brain, and all the rest are running on what you decide to put into your mouth. Thus, eating a simple, healthful diet will be complimentary to your body operating at its maximum capacity. Presumably, this is what we all desire. By making changes to our current diet, and by adding in more healthful items, you will be expanding your body's ability to fight disease and keep excess weight off, as it is meant to do. This can take some of the confusion
