The biggest wedding splurges

There is no better time to go all-out than your wedding day. It's a day of celebration and joy, bringing together two families and honoring the love between two people. It's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to throw a fabulous party that your guests will be talking about for years, and to feel like royalty for a day. When planning your wedding budget, there are 5 items that you simply should not skimp on.

* The dress

For many women, this one is a no-brainer. The wedding dress is perhaps the most important item in your wedding budget.
Your wedding is a chance to feel like a princess for a day, and the dress is the biggest part of that. Whether you go for lace or beadwork, silk or satin, pristine white or a splash of color, your wedding dress should be everything you've dreamed of. This is your moment to shine.

* The reception hall

After the wedding, you want to party in style. Location is everything. It is important to throw a reception that your guests will enjoy, and the venue is perhaps the most important factor in throwing a memorable reception. The reception hall needs to be large enough to accommodate dancing, socialization, and eating, and the nicer it looks, the less decorating you'll have to do yourself.

* The rings

The wedding rings symbolize the union of two people. You will be wearing these rings for the rest of your lives. Gold and diamonds are expensive enough, but trendier couples may want to go for more costly platinum, and colored diamonds have become increasingly popular among newlyweds. Look for a timeless, classic style that will never go out of fashion, and be sure that your wedding rings reflect your own personal style.

* The cake

The wedding cake is one of the most widely-recognized symbols of a wedding celebration, and can be one of the most expensive. The wedding cake reflects a couple's unique style, and it needs to be large enough to feed everyone at the reception. Most of us will only get one chance to have such an extravagant dessert custom-made just for us, so this is the time to do it up right.

* The invitations

The wedding invitations are the first impression your guests will have of your upcoming nuptials.
They set the tone for the entire ceremony and celebration, and let your guests know what to expect when they come to your wedding. You want the invitations to be stylish, personal, formal, and beautiful. Give your guests something to talk about before they even arrive at the church by sending out gorgeous invitations.

This is your wedding day!
It's a time to celebrate, to be extravagant, to realize your wildest dreams. If you splurge on nothing else, these five items are the things that will make your wedding fabulous, so don't skimp on them. Enjoy your special day!
