Anarchy: The idea of a world without government

Most people probably think about anarchy as destructive and inhuman conditions, in an area where weapons are the only valid currency and the worst psychopaths in charge. 'The animal in us would be loose'. That's at least the associations governments often want to sell their people as the only alternative to ever stricter control. 'You all need our control for protection from our enemies' The images of the enemies grow even worse the more power control freaks demand, and the idea of freedom is reduced to a word in their rhetorical speeches.

May be it's time to stop up and think before we re-subscribe to the cycle of fears, hate, prejudices and granting even more power to serious and angry control freaks? What happened to the power of unity and love? What if we take the chance of letting a mustard seed of love and unity grow? May be our enemies turn out to be a little less evil than we thought? May be they mostly seemed so because of our fears, which reinforced their fears and gave power to their own aggressive control freaks? May be they love their children and want peace as much as we do?

Would we turn into animals without government? First of all, don't most animals live in harmony with their own species and nature? We can't honestly say that human civilisation has been less self destructive than animal species during the past centuries? Most animals actually don't kill other members of its species. May be our problem in nature is that fear has been taken out of its natural environment and abused as a tool for power and manipulation? We almost can't do anything before somebody wants you to be controlled by fear. It's a mad world! And this has been going on for so long that we find it difficult to imagine a world without borders, armies, nationalism, racism etc. - except in a post apocalyptic scenario. Do we need an apocalypse to regain a freer and more natural world?

I'm an optimist and don't think so, if we just give love and unity a chance instead of feeding our fears and projecting them into the world. I believe our unity will become more apparent and the need for aggressive divisions will fade if we do. We'll then be able to realize more of our creativity for solving problems and enjoying life. What seems impossible now may not be when not using so much energy on fear. But I don't think such a path will be free from crises, as old personal and collective habits loose their illusory power. Even if they were built up around fears we have grown used to them, and we often get frustrated and even more afraid when not being able to do things as we are used to.

Even though anarchy based on love and truth may seem like a utopia today I think we at least need to move in that direction. And I think the synergy effect of freeing our united unrealized potentiality of joy, freedom, unity and positive energy will make it go faster and give greater results than we can imagine today.
