For offices that decide to go paperless the clear meaning is that no papers are kept anywhere in the office. This is to say that all records are kept on specialised computer software programs that record all information as and when the work is completed at different stages of the business cycle.
The company may receive paper documentations for invoices, payroll expenses and other such like aspects of business though the company in this instance never gets in the position whereby records are kept in filling cabinets, desks and other areas of the office. The office is there to be kept clean and tidy and by having storage of records of paper the advantages are easy to see. Firstly there are no big amounts of space that are effectively wasted by having loads of papers around the office. Office space is precious and also expensive as office is charged for square feet or square meters. By avoiding papers being sent around the office also reduces the need for messenger staff and office junior workers to spend hours sifting through letters and other documents.
Work based information would be less bureaucratic if offices went paperless. The offices would be able to work more productively and efficiently if the office staff did not have to spend ages filling out forms and filling them in cabinets. Also the amount of paperwork that accumulates into cabinets can be better left to a computerised system that automates the work flow of tasks and make the referencing of computerized files so much more easier to locate and retrieve.
Other social considerations include the avoidance of destroying trees. Financial considerations include not having such a high budget on stationery for paper as well as less ink cartridges and less purchasing of printers and photocopiers.
