Poetry: Expressions of love

Rambling Of The Heart

I can hear your voice
Through the wind
Just as an Eagle's cry.
Feeling deep in my soul
The songs of the old.
Needing affirmation
Of what will be
In time to come.
Hearing my heartbeat
Loud and clear
Knowing that I am
Missing out on the World
With what feels like
Shackles and chains.
My soul yearning
Fighting for what is right.
Not never seeing the wrong
That has been done for so long.
Taking in stride what it is
That I need to be doing
To help those
Who need to heal.
With you in my life,
I do know that I can
Farther myself as a whole
Verses the void
That I have felt for so long ago.
You remain apart of me
Just like every song that you play.
The Great Spirit teaches me
To love unconditionally.
Therefore, I am bound
By devotion to do
Just as he says to.
May you teach
From your heart
And hear the words
That are wise.
Take me as I am....
Never let go
Of what can be to last.
Honor of our Ancestors
Will always be a duty
To uphold and made seen
That we are not the people
That we have been made out to be.
