Opening a door to a Spa is like opening a door to an alternate world. Walking through the door the instant smell of eucalyptus fills your senses; the low light eases your eyes, the sounds of water trickling from the waterfall, and the low soft toned voices that greets you at the front desk welcomes you. The moment of tranquility fills your body and instantly you feel more relaxed and the stress of the day begins to melt away. As soon as you give the receptionist your name the adventure of relaxation begins. And before you know it you will be in the fluffy robe and comfy slippers awaiting your mini escape. Going to the SPA for a day or even an hour can rejuvenate you to take on whatever life has in store for you.
Spas today offer benefits for body and mind through the innumerous treatments. The current trends in Spas are Fruit Facials.
Fruit is used to gently exfoliate, extract toxins, and tone your skin. Fruit Facials are a natural alternative to a traditional chemical facial with the bonus of the fragrant smell from the fruit. Another way to relieve stress by way of the Spa is to indulge in a Body treatment. These usually include wraps to cleanse, detoxify, and increase circulation throughout the body. Some alternative therapies that can be offered include hot/cold water baths that are infused with minerals that are great of the skin and can increase circulation. Also some spas are offering mind and body health sessions. These typically include dietician tutoring, wellness plan for type of treatments your body can benefit from, and a custom exercise program for your body type.
The most popular treatment at the SPA is the massage. The types of massages offered in today's Spas are plentiful.
Just some of them are Swedish, Hot Stone, Aromatherapy, Prenatal, and Sport. A massage can eleavate stress both physically and mentally.
Physically a therapist is working through the muscles in your body that can cause the aches and pains that leave you tired from your rigorous day. The therapist is increasing the flow of good oxygenated blood to the parts of your body that can cause physical stress. Mentally during your massage you can drift off into your serene sub-conscience and the let go of the stress of the day. And if you are having troubling relaxing you can always focus on your breathing and become centered.
A SPA treatment is a wonderful gift you can give yourself to become a better you.
