One of the greatest sorrows in life is the person whose mind is gripped with fear. Fear which has developed as a result of the person telling lies to self and others; this individual is void of integrity (a value of self). There are many rationales for why one lies, but lets consider for a moment just one rationale behind the lie; a person tells a lie because they are afraid the outcome will not be favorable for them. The fantasies (lies) they create are attempts to change the outcome to win situations for themselves. This is much like cheating on a college exam to eventually portray oneself as a learned individual, when the only thing learned is how to lie and cheat. There is no honor whatsoever in a person who adopts this pathetic way of being.

Whenever an individual is so afraid that they will not win, it is because they already view themselves as a loser in the game of life. They cannot accept that the first step to winning is being straight forward with the truth. The liar will say to self and others, "what is truth?" To ask this question may be the only truth they recognize given that they do not practice honesty. The words integrity, honesty and honor would only be words left in the care of lying, fearful individuals.

The same words become inflamed with power and strength when put to practice in individual lives. Standing behind truth are honor, integrity and honesty. Truth releases the mind from captivity, enlightening it with caveats of how to win, what to win, and self as the winner. It is an honor to speak the truth, because it dissipates the weakened state of the fearful being. It is an honor to function daily in clear trains of thought without dishonesty causing a mental putsch. Imagine the evolutionary heights the human family could reach once all are practicing integrity, honesty and honor as simply a way of life. Imagine all viewing these terms as more than mere words.

Take a panoramic view of cultures worldwide and ask yourself - is integrity , honesty and honor being practiced here or are they grandiloquent terms applied by those who have the ability to manipulate lives through falsehoods and fear? Let the challenge be to each day adduce your moments of honesty, integrity and honor as application in your life. Practice the terms as disciplines in order to know their strength and to realize that they are more than just words. Adopt the integrity to honor honesty then stand proudly in the face of truth, head held high, without fear.
