Believe it or not, developing a fit and healthy lifestyle is more an inside job than anything else. Every human being on this planet has some sort of life challenge, I do not care how rich you are, spiritual, smart, how fit you are or how great your relationships seem to be. Being overweight is just one of the many challenges of life anyone may face. It is a perfectly normal human challenge. The beauty of all challenges are that when you find the victory over your challenges, everyone will want to know "how you did it" and the stage will be set for you to pass on the power for someone else to experience victory.
Having a healthy lifestyle and a fit lifestyle are two separate things. Before we get into the action packed secrets of fat burning fun, let us talk about health and fitness, their differences and how they are linked. When I work with clients, we first establish their health condition. When I write a book, I usually cover this aspect of development before all others because your inner world shapes and molds your outer world. Once we hammer this point home, we discuss how the client eats, drinks, sleeps, takes supplements, what kind of regular dialogue they have with their doctor, etc. Also, we discuss how he or she thinks, feels, and acts to achieve desired goals. Specifically, I am referring to overall health. Spiritual, mental and physical. In other words, when it comes to their personal ideal, self esteem and confidence in their personal achievements, Is there a vision? What is this vision? The most important question I ask is why. This question could have many different contexts. For example, "Why do you wish to get skinnier?" or "Why do you want to see more muscles?" or "Why do you wish to be healthier?", "When you picture your ideal self naked in the mirror, why do you imagine your ideal image looking that way?" These questions will shed light on pressing issues in need of attention, and/or point you in the right direction as you travel on your journey to meet your better self.
Here are some things to compare to your lifestyle. Healthy individuals take the stairs instead of the elevator. When they go shopping, they do not look for the closest parking space. They just park (you can easily burn 1500 calories in one shopping frenzy at the mall starting with your walk from the car, to the entrance). These people also monitor how much water goes into their bodies (eight, 8oz. glasses of water is the minimum ya' know).
