Malcontent
Restless discontentment and confusions abound
Spiteful silver tongues only serve to confound
Rampant thoughts run in circles, leaving no clue
What is right, what is wrong, what am I expected to do
So much I want to say, just no one to truly listen
Very frustrating to me that I have so few convictions
Feelings that seem to float in on angelic wings
Suddenly are tainted - dark, twisted, ugly things
Terrified to risk everything and still end up alone
Smothering emptiness, hallow heart turns to stone
Never get where I'm going without the first step
Suspicious and fearful, no comfort can I accept
From the heart the mouth speaketh, such a clumsy rush
Unexpressed depth of emotion, mouth can't keep up
Shifting eyes cast from shadows, blatant misunderstanding
Unwittingly I've fallen on my face, no soft landing
Desperately screaming soul, no voluntary ear
Imploring, begging, doesn't anyone hear
No true gift with words, just this mockery of skill
All is left unheard, I've returned to quiet and still
Please pull my head down out of the clouds
I just want to speak and feel out loud
Is there anyone left that even cares
About my empty heart and my blank stares
