'Green' is a passion. Don't let it cloud your good judgement! It's easy to get excited about spreading 'green' awareness - but not on a plastic bag!

1. Be The Engineer - Follow the energy! The emphasis will be on areas of renewable energy. Consider hydrology! The global market size of the water industry is expected to be US 1.6 trillion dollars in ten years.

2. Be The Math Whiz - Someone has to manage all those numbers! Mathematicians rank right up there with scientists on the 'green' pay scale. Mathematics can land you a six-figure salary!

3. Be The Research - The demand for research scientists is steadily on the rise. Environmental science will become the 'green' field of dreams! Governments worldwide are willing to put money into the science of 'green.'

4. Be The Maintenance - A specialized work force will be needed to help maintain and sustain green businesses. Software engineers and developers will be required to develop, build, and maintain networks and systems. Experienced coders will be in demand.

5. Be The Builder - The search will be on for 'green' architects. This field will see continued growth in the future. More and more companies will be 'greening' their businesses.

6. Be The Laborer - Skilled trades workers will be the foundation of a 'green' future. 'Green' idealism will become the 'green' reality. Solar panels will be useless if no one knows how to install them!

7. Be The Controller - Become a pollution control technician! Air pollution control is just one of the specialty areas. Pollution control focuses on reducing harm to the environment.

8. Be The Lawyer - There is a future in environmental law. The hope is that every business will be a friend to the environment. Your legal expertise, however, will keep everyone on the straight and narrow.

9. Be The Designer - Choose to be a 'green' interior designer. Or why not, design the next 'green' product! The push will be on for new and improved 'green' designs.

10. Be A General (Generally green, that is!) - Universities are emphasizing 'green' education. The University of Saskatchewan has introduced a School of Environment and Sustainability. Today's students can become skilled professionals, academics, or researchers in environmental concerns.
