What little boy doesn't love the bright red, fast, smiley face character Lightening McQueen? Kids all over the world are drawn to the movie Disney Cars, and to the toys, books, clothing, and of course, bedroom accessories. When decorating a boys room in this popular theme there are a few key items that will set the entire look of the room, and some smaller things that you can add to top it off.
The first item to consider when decorating a bedroom is of course the furniture. If you are decorating the room of a toddler there is a great selection of toddler furniture in the Cars theme which is available at Wal Mart, Sears, Ebay, and various other department and online stores. If the bedroom is intended for an older child who no longer fits toddler furniture then you can use whatever furniture your child already has!
The next step in decorating any room is bedding. There are several different bedding designs in this adorable theme, and they are sold at many different locations, and online. Some places to look are Wal Mart, Sears, and Ebay where you can find great deals on bedding both new and used. Matching window treatments, throw pillows and cushions, and wall decor such as wallpaper borders and murals, and decals can also be found and purchased at these locations. The window treatments you use can be exactly like the bedding, or you can choose a color from the it and purchase window treatments in that color.
Once you have your bedding chosen the fun can really begin! Starting with the walls, choose a paint color to complement the bedding. Red and blue are both great colors to suit this theme. Once the room has been painted you can choose wall accents. As previously mentioned there is a wide variety of matching wall treatments for this theme. If wall paper borders are not really your thing there are several different wall decal designs featuring the popular characters Lightening McQueen, Mater, Ally, Hudson Hornet and the rest of the gang. A definite plus when using decals is they can be removed without damaging your walls. In decorating walls you can also use posters, or framed pictures which you can do yourself using magazine cut outs or pictures found online and printed from your computer. Some other neat ideas for wall decor which would suit this theme is race flags and traffic signs.
So, your furniture is in place, the bed is made, and the walls are decorated. Now what? There are several decor options available to you at affordable costs. Lamps, ceiling fans, wall organizers, laundry bins, and toy boxes are just a few and are available at most department stores. You can also find some cute nick nack items at dollar stores including change banks, wall stickers, and photo frames. Shop around and look for the best deals. Ebay is also a great place to search as it offers both new and used items at often rock bottom prices.
Now the room is complete, or at least nearly, and as time goes by you can add a thing or two here and there, and now that all the work is done, your boy can relax in and enjoy his new room surrounded by all of his favorite motor run friends!
