Having acne can definitely be a burden and even more so when you don't have the money for expensive over the counter treatment. The good news is that you can treat your acne with products you can find in your own kitchen! One concoction is to take baking power and plain oatmeal. Place the baking powder and oatmeal in a bowl and put in a enough warm water to make a paste. The amount of ingredients vary from each individual, so use you best judgement. Use your fingertips to gently rub the paste over your face; the oatmeal acts as an exfoliant while the baking powder cleanses your pores. Let the mask sit on your face until it dries or until the cool, tingly sensation is no longer present. Another acne remedy toothpaste! If it's strong enough to clean and kill bacteria in your mouth, chances are that it will also do the same for your face. All you have to do is apply a dab to your blemishes and leave it on for as long as you see fit. Before hand, you can also put a warm washcloth over your face to open up your pores. Depending on your skin type, always wash your face with lukewarm water as to not dry out with skin. Sometimes the skins dryness can irritate your acne making it worse.
The ingrediants for at home skin care remedies are plentiful, seeing as that another method is using lemon juice as an astringent. Get a cotton ball and douse it with lemon juice and apply it to your problem spots. There will probably be a slight stinging sensation which is completely normal. As with the toothpaste remedy, you may want to put a warm wash cloth over your face to open up your pores. Also, if you want to take away the redness out of your blemishes you can use your basic over the counter eye drops. Eye drops are meant to take away the redness out of your eyes and it will for the most part, do the same with your blemishes. Note that it will not take the redness out entirely but rather diminish the appearance. Another way to take the redness and swelling down is Benedryl anti-itch cream; if t can take the redness and swelling out of your bug bites, it'll do the same for blemishes. Granted everybody's skin type is not the same and may react differently to the above suggestions more than others. At home skin remedies are all about trial and error, being creative and overall just seeing what works for you. So now you don't have to fret about whether of not you can afford the latest skincare products, chances are they're probably in your own kitchen!
